The "Karlshof" residential development fills a long-term urban planning gap on Lanker Straße in the Oberkassel district of Düsseldorf and forms an attractive extension to the neighbouring heritage conservation area. The four buildings arranged along the street continue the existing block development. The two middle buildings are set back from the others to form a spacious forecourt with a central entrance.
The precisely symmetrical facade retains proportionality and acts as a traditional element of composition and tectonics. Horizontal cornices and window reveals enliven the appearance and lend the building a high architectonic quality and spaciousness.
